7 things you should be looking for in a Windows Backup solution
on Fri, Mar 23, 2012 @ 03:00 PM
You should be able to backup all your computers: Servers, Desktops and Laptops.
Backup up should be possible wherever the location of your computers: Head Office or remote locations such as Hotel, Home or Branch Offices.
You should have various backup strategies available such as Total, Selective and Immediate Backup. These strategies should be comprehensives using Profiles.
It should be simple to install and configure thru wizards, simple to use and include simple and automatic reports with summary and detailed sections.
You should stay in control of your enterprise data. Backing up in the cloud is ok only if you stay in control, not the user.
In addition to the manufacturer tools, you should be able to restore files or whole computers using Windows built-in tools like WBAdmin or NTBackup. Having to look for proprietary restore software in an emergency situation can slow you down.
You should be able to backup to disk. They are faster and much more reliable than tapes.
